Masquerade Tutorial -The Raven Charger Plates

Hi everyone! Megan here! So, I know you guys have seen the all the cool stuff we've been doing for the Edgar Allan Poe Masquerade Dinner Party Tutorial Series. If you haven't go ahead and pop on over and check it out. Today I'm going to show you how I managed to make those super cool charger plates that have stanzas from The Raven. You guys remember the charger plates right?

How about now? Yes? Thought so. I was pretty impressed with myself coming up with this. But really I just used an idea that I had previously come up with before for a Christmas advent calendar I made for Alex last year.

Masquerade Tutorial - Tombstone Ice Chest

I know what you guys are thinking, a tutorial on Sunday? Yes, we wanted to try to get out all the Masquerade projects before Halloween, so y'all get an extra treat! At our masquerade we made the styrofoam cooler into a tombstone, it's the little things really. So after we were about done with the project we realized we wanted to do a post on it, so we had to recreate the photos, bear with us.

Favorite Finds Friday {25}

Hey everyone! Megan here! SO, finally another edition of  Favorite Finds Friday. Halloween is almost here! I'm super excited even though I'm gonna be on a cruise ship this Halloween. But I was able to squeeze in some pumpkin carving before I set sail for the seven seas! I always take my pumpkin carving very very seriously. And I always try to challenge myself with something harder each year. Alex always just likes to free hand his, then he's always sad it didn't turn out as cool as everyone else's. Planning! Planning I told him. I've had my pumpkin idea picked out since last Halloween! And just what did I carve this year? Well, I'll just show you!

Why yes! That is in fact Maleficent; my all time favorite Disney villain! Pretty cool eh? I thought I might have messed her up for a long while that, but me, being super awesome at pumpkin carving was able to save her.

Thirsty Thursday - Starbucks Via Ready Brew

Hey guys! Megan here. So, this week I'm doing something different for Thirsty Thursday. I want to talk about Starbucks' instant coffee packets. Now, I sure everyone here has at least seen instant coffee. I know I have and I've tasted it. And if you haven't, take my word for it, it is gross with a capital G! My Nannie Glenda drinks the Folger's instant coffee stuff and it just smells like overly burnt coffee, but she swears by it because it's stronger than the brewed stuff. No Mam! Not to me. And it tastes like battery acid, or rather  what I think battery acid would taste like. So with my aversion to instant coffee, why do I want to talk about Starbucks's Via Ready Brew?

Masquerade Tutorial - Napkin Rings

Hello! Melissa here with another easy tutorial for you. As you may have seen in previous posts, we held a Masquerade dinner party at the beginning of this month. It was fantastic! Great food, great decorations, and great company. Megan and Emily did a lot of the bigger projects and man did they knock it out of the park. I'll be showing you how I made the napkin rings.

Favorite Finds Friday {24}

Wahooo!!! It's Friday! And I am back! For now anyway, going on a cruise next week with some fam for my birthday! The only thing that sucks about it is that Alex can't go. BOO! But he still thinks I'll have tons of fun! So, Halloween is right around the corner and it's my FAVORITE holiday! Even more so that Christmas! I do not lie. But sadly, I will not be here for Halloween this year because of said cruise. But I do get to do some pumpkin carving and I might celebrate Halloween a tad bit early just for fun. So before we get started on this week's favorite finds, I wanna share with you a little Halloween humor.

Thirsty Thursday - Frozen Hot Chocolate

Hi everyone! Megan here. So, it's Thirsty Thursday and we're gonna start today off with a little recipe for homemade whipped cream. Yes, I said homemade. I hate the store bought stuff. The one in the can and the one in the tub. Hate hate hate it. It tastes completely artificial and chemically to me. Besides, making your own homemade whipped cream it super easy and, if you are anything like me, you almost always have the ingredients on hand. Why are we making homemade whipped cream? Because we have to top our frozen hot chocolate off with something! Nothing is better than homemade whipped cream.

Would you just look at that? And with Halloween sprinkles!?! I'm a GENIUS! Now, I don't have pictures for the homemade whipped cream, but it's super easy and TASTY!

Heatherly Loves' Coffee Mug Swap Reveal

I'm excited to say it's time for the reveal of the mug that I got from my partner in the coffee mug swap over at Heatherly Loves I participated in. Heather is super awesome for inviting me to her mug swap and I can't wait to participate in the next one! You guys should stop by her blog and check it out. She got some super crafty things and I have been loving all her Halloween and fall projects, especially the pumpkin ones she's been posting lately.

Masquerade Tutorial - Raven & Skull Place Cards

Did you all see the pictures from out Masquerade dinner party? If not click here. We had so much fun with it! Today I am going to show you how to make the place card holders we made. Our theme was Edgar Allen Poe and we could not find place card holders that fit the theme. So Megan came up with the idea and it turned out awesome! Everyone wanted to take their's home.

Favorite Finds Friday {23}

Hey Everybody! Ha fooled you all! It's actually Emily. Megan has gone out of town so I had to do Favorite Finds this week. No biggie, just learning new jazz so y'all can see what we found and love. So like Megan has said October is a busy month, she has two trips I'm going on vacation... IN SIX FREAKING DAYS Y'ALL!!  Phew, thought I was about to burst with excitement for a minute. My family is going up to Maryland to see some family then head on down to Ocean City MD to spend the last half of the week at a hotel by the beach. It should be fun they have this huge boardwalk with an amusement park, and c'mon, Maryland crabs!?! Yes please!

We also had our masquerade last Friday. It was a lot of fun, be on the look out for tutorials of things we made for it.

Masquerade Tutorial - Blood Punch

So at the party we served our Amaretto Sours and a non-alcoholic punch, which was pretty well received by everyone. But the thing I love the most about the punch, being so close to Halloween was that it looked like blood! Now I must apologize because I made the punch as I was decorating, Megan and Melissa were cooking, so I was doing the tablescape and making punch and moving furniture all at the same time, and I completely forgot to take pictures! So I only have the final picture.

Masquerade Dinner Party Tutorial Series

Hello everybody! Megan here! So, I know everyone has been super excited to hear about our Masquerade dinner party. The plan was to just have a Halloween party, but with everyone's schedule being so hectic in October (mostly mine) having a Halloween party just wasn't happening. So, the idea for a dinner party was thrown around and the masquerade idea came up. Everyone seemed pretty happy with that idea, but now we had to theme it. Emily threw out the murder mystery idea, which could have worked if we had more party guests on the list and a lot more extra time on our hands to plan it. Then we came up with idea for a Edgar Allan Poe theme, which everyone (me included) went crazy for. So Edgar Allan Poe Masquerade Dinner Party it was! When decided to have the dinner party we also decided to create a tutorial series for it for our readers. So, throughout the month we're going share with you everything we created for this the dinner party. YAY!

Melissa made the awesome possum napkin rings. You'll have to check out the tutorial later this month to see how she did it. The chargers have stanzas from Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven. And I just bet your wondering how I managed to do that. I'll tell you...the the tutorial.
