Favorite Finds Friday {3}

Okay. So WOW! A lot of stuff is going on this week for me and Emily both. Emily spent most of her week reading the Hunger Games and having visitors from out of town. Not to mention her brother is trying to move this week. This week also was the NFL Draft, which probably means nothing to you guys but it's a big thing around my house. It's also three days long. So, I've had a house full of boys this week. Alex's friend Josh is moving out to LA and I promised him before he went that I would make him fried chicken with waffles. (I know that sounds weird, but it's actually a popular southern dish here.) So, that was planned for this evening. I'm trying to squeeze in this blog post around all the errands I've had to do today in preparation for tonight's dinner and the second and third round in NFL draft. Alex and I have gotten all our plans down for our trip to my hometown, Dahlonega, Georgia next month. He's never been to my hometown and I'm super excited to share this with him. (Pictures to follow after the trip. Two more weeks!!)

Anyway, as I was stumbling around this week I came across this particular picture that nails projects that I attempt on the head perfect. Remember about two weeks ago in our favorite finds we featured a crayon wall art by Light&Spoon.

Baked Ziti

So I knew I was going to have a house full of people last night. And as hostess with plans dropped in her lap at the last minute, of course my first thought was "Oh my! What am I going to feed all these people?" Enter my stand by: Baked Ziti. With one of these, a load of garlic bread, and a salad you have a meal that is sure to please and feed 8-10 people easily.

Last night after a vote was cast the decision was that everyone wanted it extra cheesy. This recipe is going to be the normal version but to go extra cheesy just use some extra provolone.

Parasol Pick Spring Wreath

Hello everyone! So Spring is finally here. Spring is probably my second favorite season of the year; runner up to Fall. (I'm kinda bias though since I was born in the Fall and really close to Halloween. Also, Halloween is my favorite holiday as you'll come to know for sure come August when I won't shut up about it. Yes, I said August.) Spring is nice though. Not to hot and not too cold. Kinda like Fall, well at least here in Savannah that is. Now is about the time that people start doing those Luau parties and have those cute little umbrellas in their drinks. I love those little umbrellas. I also like making new wreaths for my door too. I came across this cute little wreath on the internet somewhere or another that had a vine wreath with umbrella picks and I thought...PERFECT! Spring and Summer all rolled into one and a super cute wreath for my door! I also had a few extra umbrellas left over that I'm just going to place in all my drinks and dream that I'm on the beach in Maui pretending I don't sunburn easily. Hey, a girl can dream can't she?

Redneck Wine Glasses

Ahhh I feel like I haven't done anything for the blog in like forever! I had a couple things planned but I got busy planning a trip to my mother's house for Easter/her birthday that I didn't get to do them. I am one of those people who go neurotic when going on a trip and become a control freak.

So anyways, I had to wait to post this for a couple weeks because these were actually my mom's birthday present. Now my mother lives in Alabama and I literally have seen her drink wine in a mason jar. So when I saw these all over the internet I HAD to make them for her.

The funny part is that after I gave her the ones I made my Aunt and Uncle showed up and had bought her the same thing, for $15 a piece! I made mine for about $3 a piece.

Easter Egg Topiary

YAY!! Easter is almost here, which means the end of Lent for me. Hello Starbucks!!! I hope you have missed me. Granted I can't drink anything caffeinated due due my craziness that's going on but I could always just have a hot chocolate or something right?

So here's my Easter Topiary. I know that it's a little late for Easter decorations and all but I just had to share this. It's simply too cute not to. I didn't get pictures of every step because this was actually a last minute decision post. So I apologize and I'll explain things as best as I can. Also, just a warning, this is a time consuming project, but totally worth it. So beware...
